Mattresses & Bed Bases

Virtually all of our beds take standard double or king size mattresses.

Many of the beds also require a thin upholstered bed base. This rests on the bed's side rails and raises the mattress to the correct height. This makes the bed much more comfortable to get in and out of and also makes it look much more inviting and pleasing to the eye.

We offer Sleepwell mattresses bases which are hand-made and the quality is excellent (in fact, we all have at least one Sleepwell mattress at home!)

BACK CARE MATTRESSES (not including the bed base)

The back care range, with its open sprung construction, offers a variety of firmnesses to suit any preference and body weight. By far, the most popular mattress we sell is the Back Care Firm mattress - not too soft but not too hard either.

Please note that if you are purchasing a base for your own bed that has metal side rails, you may require cut out corners to accommodate the bed fittings. A 5% supplement per corner applies. Please check before purchasing that you are ordering the correct size to fit your bed. These bases are designed to rest on the side rails with location blocks underneath for stability.

For an under-size mattress or bed base, add 10%.
